8 Dental Care Tips You Need To Know

    Brush Your Teeth Often

If you don’t brush your teeth, harmful bacteria grows in your mouth. This bacteria can erode your teeth and cause cavities. You should brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes, and the best time to do it is right after you eat.

    Remember To Floss Too

Like your brushing, you should floss two times a day. So to keep it simple, make it your goal to floss every time you brush your teeth. If you go into the bathroom and pick up your toothbrush, you know it’s time to pick up the floss as well.

    Buy A New Toothbrush

You should buy yourself a new toothbrush at least once every three months.

Once you have a new toothbrush, don’t cover it up between brushes. Covering your brush can help bacteria breed, which you’ll then introduce to your mouth. Instead, rinse it off when you’re done and let it air dry.

    Use Mouthwash

Your teeth aren’t the only things affected by the bacteria in your mouth. That same bacteria can gather along the gumline and cause things like gingivitis. Mouthwash cleans this part of your gums as well as your teeth. For the best oral health, you should use mouthwash with every brush as well. That means twice a day, the same as flossing. Take a sip of mouthwash and hold it in your mouth for at least 30 seconds to ensure it does its job.

    Drink More Water

Water helps your mouth produce saliva, and saliva is good for your teeth. And water’s a much better alternative than sugary drinks, especially soda. Soda also erodes tooth enamel, which weakens the entire tooth. You should try to avoid these types of drinks as much as possible.

If you do treat yourself to a soda, brush your teeth when you’re finished.

    Eat The Right Foods

Just like sugar isn’t very good for you, it isn’t very good for your teeth either. Try to limit sweets and other foods with a lot of processed sugars.

    Stop Smoking And Drinking

Drinking alcohol can weaken your teeth and speed up tooth decay. Smoking can turn your teeth yellow and it increases the number of bacteria in your mouth.

    Visit The Dentist

Try to visit your dentist at least twice a year.
